Day 1 Itinerary

Morning:
Depart from Luxembourg and head towards Koblenz, the heart of Rhineland-Palatinate, located at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Your first stop should be the Deutsches Eck (German Corner), where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet, offering an excellent panoramic view. Visit the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument, an iconic statue commemorating German unification. From here, take a cable car ride up to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, one of the largest fortresses in Germany. Explore the museum inside, which delves into the region’s history, and take a stroll through the fortress's gardens while enjoying the spectacular view of the town and rivers below.

Lunch:
For lunch, head to the Alt Coblenz restaurant, located near the river, where you can savor traditional German fare such as bratwurst or sauerbraten (German pot roast).

Afternoon:
After lunch, take a short drive or cruise along the Rhine to visit Boppard, one of the most scenic towns along the river. Boppard is famous for its Roman ruins, such as the Roman Castle, and its vineyards. Stroll through the Altstadt (Old Town), where you can admire medieval half-timbered houses and explore local shops. If you're in the mood for a wine tasting, stop by a local vineyard to sample some of the region’s finest wines, particularly the crisp Riesling.

Evening:
Return to Koblenz for dinner at the Restaurant Weinhaus Schumacher, known for its outstanding local wines and delicious regional dishes. After dinner, enjoy a relaxing evening walk along the riverbanks or visit the Löhr-Center, a shopping mall that offers a variety of shops and restaurants.

Day 2 Itinerary

Morning:
Start your second day by heading to Cochem, a charming town located along the Moselle River. Known for its fairytale castle, Reichsburg Cochem, this castle offers stunning views of the town and the river below. You can take a guided tour of the castle and learn about its medieval history, or simply wander the grounds and enjoy the beautiful gardens.

Lunch:
For lunch, head to Gasthof & Weingut Schmitz for some excellent local wine and hearty German dishes, such as flammkuchen (a crispy flatbread topped with crème fraîche, onions, and bacon).

Afternoon:
After lunch, take a leisurely stroll through Cochem’s historic Old Town, where you can explore narrow streets filled with medieval houses and quaint shops. If you’re a fan of wine, stop by the Cochem Moselle Wine Museum to learn about the region’s long history of wine production. Afterward, take a relaxing boat ride on the Moselle River and enjoy the spectacular vineyard landscapes that make this region so iconic. If you have time, visit the Pinnerkreuz for an incredible view of the town from the hilltop.

Evening:
For dinner, head to Restaurant Im Weinhaus for an unforgettable experience in a cozy, rustic setting. Here, you can enjoy delicious dishes like wiener schnitzel or roast pork with dumplings. After dinner, explore the peaceful atmosphere of Cochem or visit one of the many local wine cellars for a nightcap.
